In a last minute change of course from Forden due to road works, riders took to the Welshpool 10 mile course for the final round of the Hafren TT Series.
Riders were treated to a massive tail wind on the outward leg, but that meant only one thing – a bruising headwind on the return!!
Ian Coe underlined his ‘Champions’ status with another fine win in testing conditions. His 23 minutes 15 seconds beat Bryn Davies by 8 seconds and Graham Harris rounding out the podium in 23:38.
In the Ladies series the winner of the last few rounds Rebecca Cook was on marshalling duties and Emma Sarjeant seized her opportunity to post the fastest time, beating new HCC member Lucy Davies by just 19 seconds. 2014 Champion Jackie Harris finished third a further 12 seconds in arrears.
It was great to see a Junior (16-18 years) riding the series, with Ioan Bale posting 32 minutes 29 seconds for his first ‘Come & Try’ outing. Kallum Stait was unfazed by the tough conditions and continued to fly the flag for the Schoolboy category.

A final points table will be pulled together over the next 2-3 weeks once all results have been checked and verified, at which point a full list of all our 2015 Champions will be revealed.
The next Hafren event is the Hillclimb Championship on Sunday 13th September. Meet at the Oak Public House. Guilsfield. Sign-on is from 9:30, with the first rider off at 10:00 am.
