Just 15 seconds separated the top three, with Harcourt posting 39 minutes 42 seconds, beating first Hafren rider on the night Ian Coe by just 7 seconds. whilst Graham Harris rounded out the top three a further 8...

Newtown 12.5 mile Time Trial Result – 1st July

On a warm, but quite ‘muggy’ night 31 riders took to the start line. Conditions were great for some fast times and that’s exactly what we got! Fastest on the night was Ian Coe, who broke the 30 minute barrier and therefore achieved over 25mph average for the 12.5 mile course. His 29 minutes 54 seconds was enough to beat Graham Harris by 9 seconds. Bryn Davies (30:22) rounded out the podium, whilst series leader Pete Thomas had to settle for 4th on the n

Welshpool 10 mile Time Trial Result – 24th June

Rain before the start suggested that this weeks time trial was going to be a wet affair, but race organiser Tony Brooks worked his magic and pretty much all competitors 'enjoyed' a dry nights racing. Winner on the night was guest rider Gary Duncan, whose 23 minutes 20 seconds pipped first Hafren rider home Ian Coe by just 8 seconds. Second on the Hafren podium was Graham Harris in 23 mins 45 seconds, who narrowly beat Pete Thomas into third by just one ...

Newtown 12.5 mile Time Trial Result – 17th June

A gusting wind was the order of the day for this weeks event, but certainly nowhere near as strong as it had been during the day. Rain however fell for the first time in this years series, so riders needed to take care on the corners as wet conditions and fast riding are not a good mix for any racing cyclist. Returning to the scene of his previous series win two weeks previously, Ian Coe posted 30 minutes 34 seconds to take top spot on the night. Graham...

Forden 7.5 mile Time Trial Result – 10th June

The first time of using this new course was cause for much debate afterwards. The strain on riders faces as they crossed the line suggested that although this was one of the shortest time trials this year, the effort required was equal to that used on the longer, but flatter 'purist' courses. The sting in the tail being the climb before the finish that saw many going into the red as they tried to measure the effort needed to reach the finish line. Faste...

Newtown 12.5 mile Time Trial Result – 27th May

Held under grey skies and with the constant threat of rain, 26 riders took on this 12.5 loop that starts off on Milford Rd on the outskirts of Newtown, heading through Llanwnog and then returning to Newtown via Caersws and the main A489. A strong headwind was felt by everyone on the outward leg to Llanwnog and it was here that the race was won or lost, depending on how well you were able to cope with the gusty conditions. The tail wind on the return leg...

Welshpool 10 Mile Time Trial Result – 20th May 2015

A sunny and dry evening with a light breeze enabled 43 riders to enjoy what is probably the best conditions seen for a Hafren CC time trial this season. The last event on this course two weeks ago saw strong winds and cold conditions, so it was great to see winter clothing banished and shorts and short sleeved jerseys very much the order of the day. Round 4 of the 14 round season long Hafren series saw 25 Hafren riders take to the line, but this event a...

Newtown 12.5 mile Time Trial Result – 13th May 2015

On a cool and breezy evening 32 riders rocked up to ride the first of the Newtown evening events. The Newtown course is described as a 'sporting course' and has a good mix of undulations early on, topped off with what is usually a fast finish back to Newtown, so suits all-round riders and not just time trial specialists. Pete Thomas kept his early season form to again be top Hafren rider on the night, posting an impressive 30 minutes 23 seconds, on w...
