Perfect racing conditions saw a small field of 17 riders take the start for round 10 of the club TT series. The event clashed with a televised sporting event (stage 5 of the Tour?), but those that made it saw some fast times with Bryn Davies posting 26:18 to take the men’s event and Rebecca Richardson taking the Women’s event in 28:25. Newtown TT Organizer Phil Paul pulled out the stops tonight. On Monday it looked like the event would have to be changed to an alternative course because of road works. Extra Marshals were found and then it all had to revert to the planned Newtown 11.5. On a night when it seemed the correct choice of sporting equipment was a canoe, the heroes of the night were the Marshalls and Time Keepers. Andy Palin. The forecast rain for the evening held off until the last riders were home on Wednesday’s Newtown TT and race conditions were good, although there was some wind about on the return leg. Ian Coe set the pace with a blistering 30:02 in his first ride in the series, with Ian Nisbett picking up second again in 30:38. Chris Roberts was just 4 seconds behind for 3rd with 30.42.
