22 riders took to the start for round 9 of the Hafren CC TT series. This was the first outing of the series on the Forden circuit. Newtown TT Organizer Phil Paul pulled out the stops tonight. On Monday it looked like the event would have to be changed to an alternative course because of road works. A cold night with a stiff northerly headwind saw some impressive times as 31 riders took the start line in round 5 of the Hafren TT series, held on the Newtown 12.5, shortened because of road works Rebecca Richardson was once again in imperious form. Wednesday night’s Time trial was also round 6 of the SB Sports Injuries Shropshire Championship 50 series and saw 47 riders take the start on this popular, fast 10. The forecast rain for the evening held off until the last riders were home on Wednesday’s Newtown TT and race conditions were good, although there was some wind about on the return leg.
