SCCA Hill Climb Series – Hafren CC

Hafren CC Pentre'r Beirdd Hill Climb   The second course record of the 2017 Coaching Revolutions Hill Climb Series saw Dan Watts finally get the better of Kirk Vickers in Round 5, Hafren CC's Pentre'r Beirdd climb - with the Top 5 seeing some red hot competition. Watts was determined not to play second fiddle on the tricky 0.9 mile climb which throws a few changes of gradient at competitors to break up their rhythm, with the first five riders co

Club TT Series Round 13, Berriew – 16 Aug 2017

With rain forecast for 7pm twenty two riders took to the start line for this evenings 10 mile time trial in Berriew.  As it happens the rain held off until everyone had finished but there was the little matter of the strong head wind on the return leg to contend with.  So bad was it that I thought that the second five miles was at least twice as far as the first five! Competition is still tight at the top with Ashley Banks coming out on top this week wi...

Pictures Elwyn Turner Race Report Dave Fletcher The finale of The Coaching Revolutions 2-Up Series saw the destination of five pairs of medals still outstanding from the nine pairs on offer. Chief amongst those medals was the settlement of Overall Gold and Silver, with the ball pre-race very much in the court of Bryn Davies and Pete Thomas. The only way they could be overtaken by the Nova Raiders pair of Scott Harris and Matt Gibbons was with a v...

(Thanks to Steve Higgins for the photos - more at the end of the post) A cross headwind on the outbound stretch didn't help much on the return leg, but there were some fast times in round 12 of the club TT series. The Women's event was close on the night with Emma Serjeant (34:29) nicking it from Louise Downward by 11 seconds as these two battle it out for fastest Woman rider. In the Men's event top spot went to Bryn Davies, his 28:36 showing why...

The womens competition was won tonight by Emma Serjeant in a time of 25mins 43secs with Louise Downward just 12 seconds...

Club TT Series Round 7 – 21 June 2017

On a blistering hot evening there were some blistering hot times recorded in tonights round of the TT series.  Thankfully I had a zip malfunction on the line and was unable to close my skinsuit zip leaving a nice big flappy gap for some nice fresh wind to cool me down (I'm sure it was only marginal losses!). The winners tonight were Tyler Brennan in 29mins 36secs and Emma Serjeant in 35mins 49secs.  Second place went to Ashley Banks and Sahrah Wilding a...
