With rain forecast for 7pm twenty two riders took to the start line for this evenings 10 mile time trial in Berriew. As it happens the rain held off until everyone had finished but there was the little matter of the strong head wind on the return leg to contend with. So bad was it that I thought that the second five miles was at least twice as far as the first five!
Competition is still tight at the top with Ashley Banks coming out on top this week with a great time of 22mins 16secs. Second was Peter Thomas in 22mins 28secs. Third was Neil Vose in 23mins 18secs.
In the womens competition Louise Downward finished first in a time of 25mins 36secs. Second was Emma Serjeant in 25mins 48secs and Sahrah Wilding was third in 30mins 17secs.
Thanks go to Phil Paul for running the show, Dilwyn Griffiths and Des Pugh for marshalling and Paul Bufton for providing the cakes.
Next weeks TT is on the ten mile Welshpool course with signing on at the Flash Leisure Centre from 6.15 hrs.
