This is the time of year when the farmers are collecting their crops and making hay while the sun shines. This means that occasionally we see large farm machinery travelling up and down the roads and causing delays for other road users. Unfortunately this happened tonight with a combine harvester just as our time trial was on going and affected a few of the competitors causing them to slow slightly and lose time (I was quite pleased because it gave me a chance to have a rest!).
It is certainly close at the top with Ashley Banks and Pete Thomas battling it out each week for top honours. This week it was Ashley who won the day in a time of 22mins 43secs with Pete second in 22.53. Third was Neil Vose in a time of 23.30. Louise Downward was the fastest woman on the night in a time of 26mins 31secs.
Thanks again go to Tony Brooks for being in charge, Mark Hill for marshalling and Louise Downward for again providing the post ride cakes.
Next week is the last round of this years series and takes place on the Newtown 12.5 mile course. Signing on as usual in the Back Lane car park from 18.15 hours.
