Hafren CC is a not for profit Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC). We value and promote our community links. The club actively promotes bike races in the area, with season long club competitions, open events for all the cycle sport community and series for our junior riders.
The Club was nominated and were runners up in 3 categories in the 2016 Welsh Cycling Awards which recognizes and awards volunteers and clubs
We promote Men’s and Women’s events equally. Where there is a prize fund, prizes are awarded equally for men and for women
Our Junior Section is actively involved in promoting Cycle Sport in Schools and helped promote and run Welsh Cycling’s Newtown Inter Schools competition
Junior coaches regularly organize cluster sessions with other Welsh Clubs
We have recently been invited to represent Newtown Twinning Association as a Community Partner Organization
We are represented on Town Council of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn “Friends of Green Spaces Group” that is working to preserve the Severn Riverside park for towns people
We support and raise money for Severn Hospice. We selected this charity to support because its Hospice provision, staff, fund raising, shops are all local. A local charity supporting local people
Club members also compete in competitions run by the Shropshire Cycling Clubs Association and support local clubs by particpating in their events where the Hafren CC jersey can been seen in force
