Nine things you need to know.

Did you know?

Over 45 club members have volunteered their time and energies for club activities this year: marshalling events, coaching, serving on the committee, club runs and manning the kitchens.

Did you know?

Without these volunteers these club activities would not happen.

With an adult membership of 126 this is an impressive percentage, thanks to all volunteers, without them the club wouldn’t function.

We need more volunteers for upcoming events

June 28th – we need to supply 9 Marshals for the SCCA Open 25 TT being run on our Club 25 TT course between Berriew and Four Crosses. You don’t have to be participate in Time Trials (or even be interested in this side of the sport) to Marshal. The event Marshal shows the way to riders. Instructions are given on the day. The whole thing takes less than two hours. Hafren is an associated member of the SCCA, which provides county level competition. Hafren has had a lot of success in these events, but they only happen with the help of the volunteers of the member clubs.

It’s a great field, you can see the start list here.

Did you know?

The winning time for Hafren round of the SCCA Opens on the 6th June was 52:51 for the 25 mile course: these events attract top riders.

Did you know?

Half the field was from non SCCA members, with entries from as far as Merseyside and Chepstow.

Did you know?

If you haven’t volunteered yet this is an ideal opportunity to get involved in this important part of club life. It may sound onerous, but Marshals usually have a good time at these events.

Did you know?

The event can’t (and won’t) happen without Marshals as rider, volunteer and general public safety is paramount. Please volunteer by e-mailing membersfirst@hafren.cc (click link to open and e-mail) or respond to the Facebook post 17th June.

There is also the County 100 being run on a loop around Market Drayton on 15th July. All SCCA clubs are being asked to find a small number of volunteers to help and we need to find 3. This will be a full day’s commitment, please help if you can. Click the link to e-mail membersfirst@hafren.cc.

We have been asked to provide Marshals for the second shift – 9am to 13:00 (approx) details to follow
