Back to the Chrono in 2018.
After a second successful visit to the Chrono de Nations last October, the organising committee running the Chrono (international) cycling event in Les Herbiers have recently contacted the Newtown Twinning Committee to ask if Newtown would accept the place of honour (as guests of honour) for the next Chrono event in October 2018. The club has become an important part of the ties between the two towns and the invitation from the Chrono Committee is a great honour that the club will want to share in.
We are hoping to have more places in the prestigious TT events this year. Regretfully for Men 24 and over you have to be a professional, but the opportunities are there for under 23s, Juniors and Women to race. The Chrono weekend also includes a range of Sportives suitable for all the family.
This is a Newtown Town Twinning initiative and although October seems a long way off there is much to organize. Because it is part of the Town Twining accommodation costs are minimal as we would have the opportunity to stay with hosts from Les Herbiers Jumelage. This is a real opportunity for a taste of French life, participating in a major sporting festival with much else going on as well.
