On Wednesday 23rd April 2025 the club had it’s first round of the 2025 TT series on our fast 10 mile Berriew Course.
15 riders signed in and on a bright but cool evening there were some excellent times for the beginning of the season.
Max Bufton won the overall round with a best time on this course of 19.38, I believe this is a course record but will have to check, very well done Max. Sam Holwill was second on the night on his road bike breaking the 22 minute barrier for the first time with a time of 21.56 and Mark Hill was third on the night (22.53) showing early form for the year. Well done all on excellent times.
Lowri Richards was the best time for the ladies on the night with an excellent first time of 24.31, with Jess Bufton showing how much stronger she is getting with a best time of 26.07. Jan Davies came in third for the ladies with a time of 27.08 closely followed by Louise Hurdley on 27.36. I think the ladies championship will be close this season.
The road bike best time was won by Sam Holwill with Mick Case second on 27.56 and Karen Proctor third on 28.24.
Some great times and it looks like this years racing will be close between all the groups and age ranges with battles in all areas. Thanks to Des Pugh (TimeKeeper) and to Paul Bufton and Chris Lewis for marshalling on the night.
Next Wednesday 30th April 2025 we have out next round on the Welshpool 11.5 mile course and entries will go live on Thursday 24th April.
Just a reminder that a working front and back light are required when racing the club TT series for safety reasons.
