10, 9, 8….. Countdown to 21st July, the closing date for Hafren CC’s second Open TT of the season the County 10 mile TT Championship to be held 1st August.

An Equal Prize Money Event.

The event, to be run on the Berriew 10 course on Wednesday 1st August is the County Championship 10 mile TT and should attract a strong field. This replaces the club 10 on the night and if you want to ride you have to register for the event in advance (not “Sign on the Line”) With the entry deadline fast approaching there are currently only 3 Hafren riders registered.

How to Enter.

Although CTT insist that we accept Postal Entries, time is running out to be sure that snail mail gets it there in time, so it is safer to register on-line and is far easier for the club to administer.

Either way you will have to go to CTT’s web site.

As this is a County Championship Juniors do not pay an entry fee, just the £2.00 CTT Levy, so you will see 2 entries on the same date.

On Line Entries.

Don’t forget to make your cheque payable to Hafren CC and not the event organizer.

It goes without saying that we will need Marshals. As part of the County series the event should attract some of the very strong junior riders and we need to keep the event safe for all riders, volunteer and the general public. The Event HQ is the Berriew Community Centre, so we hope to provide post ride refreshments, but will need someone to run the canteen.

What can we do.

Enter the event. Club riders have put in some very fast times on this course this season, why not ride against the best in the county?

Volunteer. No volunteers, no event, it is a simple as that. Hafren is well respected locally for its safe events, and we want to continue that tradition.  At the heart of safe racing on open public roads is the system of marshals, and we’ll need quite a few that night as well as HQ sign on, results and refreshments. We need about 16 volunteers for this, so please don’t be shy to put your name forward. We could do with about 16 volunteers on the night. Help the club promote the event and support your club mates who are riding by volunteering e-mail membersfirst@hafren.cc

Many of you will know that Event Organizer Chris Taylor has had to pull out of this commitment for family reasons. If the event is to be successful we’ll need extra help.
