A cold night with a stiff northerly headwind saw some impressive times as 31 riders took the start line in round 5 of the Hafren TT series, held on the Newtown 12.5, shortened because of road works

Rebecca Richardson was once again in imperious form. Her 28:08 giving her 6th overall and 1st in the Women’s race. The scrap for podium places was close, Jackie Harris (35:55) taking silver just ahead of Louise Downward (36:14). Karen Proctor rode a strong 4th with 37:31 and Ffion Taylor (Time Trialling for the first time) came in at 47:02

The Men’s race saw Bryn Davies taking first with 26:17, pushed hard by his two-up partner Pete Thomas (2nd with 27:01) and Ian Nisbett continuing to show good form in the series taking third with 27:39

Sam Holwill, the only junior on the night, rode an impressive 31:28, less than a minute behind his Dad. Look out Mike, he’ll have you before the end of the season!
