Despite horrendous weather during the day and 4 riders heading off to compete in the SCCA Friction & Hydraulics Time Trial Series, a good turnout was had at the 11th race in the Hafren CC time trial series in Newtown for the 12.5 mile route. 14 riders chanced the weather and were treated to dry conditions with Graham Harris once again showing he is the man to beat taking the win in a time of 31.05. Paul Bufton continues his impressive form and consistency with second place on the night, stopping the clock on exactly the same time as his last outing on the route in 31.38. Steve Owen took the final place on the podium in a time of 32.20 but was pushed all the way by Bryn Davies and Adam Owen who finished in 4th and 5th respectively in times of 32.32 and 32.33.

Whilst the club was holding its race in Newtown, 4 of the Hafren riders headed off to represent the club in the Friction & Hydraulics Time Trial Series hosted by Oswestry Paragon CC. The 10 mile course ran from Llandrinio down to the turn at Buttington before finishing at Arddlin which gave the Hafren boys a chance to ride their regular 10 mile course ‘in reverse’. Fastest of the Hafren riders was Medwyn Jones who stopped the clock in 23.22 and took 7th overall in the GC and second in the Veteran’s age category.  Ian Coe crossed the line in 24:09 with son George Coe finishing in 26:49. Max Gethin took second in the junior section on the night stopping the clock in an impressive 24:22. HCC clinched the fastest team award, and added 115 points to the score, leaving them 7th behind their neighbors Oswestry Paragons
