Road Bike Series – Round 3 – Marton TT (2 Laps)
On Wednesday 24th July 2024 the club had its third Road Bike TT on the Marton Course. This was a 2 lap event and on the night the weather was not a typical summers evening but more like a early autumn evening – a little wet, cool and windy.
Sam Holwill came first with a superb time of 33.36. He was closely followed by Bryn Davies with a time of 35.03 and Ashley Banks made his first start of the year with a very impressive time of 35.49.
In the ladies competion Jan Davies took first place with a best time on the course for a woman of 40.47, Oilvia Hughes was second with a great time of 42.58 and Jess Bufton took third on the night with a time of 44.25.
There was some great times from everyone on the night and I hope you all felt the new Road TT courses are challenging enough. Can I also thank Chris Lewis, Paul Bufton and Lisa Vose for marshallingon the night and of course to Des Pugh our excellent timekeeper. These events can’t go ahead without you support so thank you.
The next club event is Round 11 of the TT series on the Berriew TT course on Wednesday 31st July 2024 and entries are live on Eventbrite. The next Road Bike event is on Wednesday 28th August on the Montgomery Course.
