Three Hafren riders took on the second round of the Midlands CX series at Sundorne Circuit, Shrewsbury.
The weather held off and the riders were treated to a good mix of fast tarmac, twisty technical sections in the woodland and some short technical ascents and descents.
Max Bufton was first up in the u10’s race, in his 1sr ride for HCC. An anxious mum and dad looked on as he lined in a field of 68 riders. No need to worry though as he was soon off and riding with a big smile on his face. A great ride saw him complete 3 laps and finish 6th in his u8 category.
Paul Bufton and Nick Huband were then off in the biggest race of the day the senior male and veteran race. The race got off to it’s usual frantic start and 50 mins later two muddy HCC riders crossed the line with big smiles on their faces. Paul finishing 23rd in his category and Nick after several crashes 30th in his category.

Great days racing was had and looking for to the 1st round of Welsh Cross league
