2014 HCC Time Trial Series – Final Points Table

The club committee have now checked, verified and agreed the final standings for 2014. In a closely fought competition Overall Champion is Medwyn Jones, with a slender 1 point advantage over Graham Harris. Newtown 12.5 mile Time Trial Results – 13th August

23 riders took part in the 12.5 mile event on Wednesday evening. Back in top spot after a few weeks further down the podium was Graham Harris who beat on form Pete Thomas by 18 seconds with the current points table leader Medwyn Jones a further 5 seconds behind in third. A dry evening after some squally showers during the day brought 33 riders to the start line for the 10 mile 2-up on Wednesday. Roadworks forced a change in course on Wednesday evening. The planned 23.2 course, was affected by loose chippings after resurfacing work, so in the interests of safety a last minute change meant that the 12.5 mile course was back in play for this week. 23 riders took to the line with Medwyn Jones topping the podium once again. Major roadworks have prevented the use of this course so far this season, so it was good to see 18 riders take to the start line on Wednesday night. Times were very close at the head of affairs with just 20 seconds separating the top 4 positions. Only 6 teams took to the line on a warm, but slightly windy evening. Top pairing were Pete Thomas and Bryn Davies narrowly missing the magical hour mark by just 22 seconds, but nearly a full minute ahead of the rest..
