Friday 8th July and the final round of The Hafren CC Freewheel Grass Track League. The sun shone and the riders were treated to some excellent and fast riding conditions. With the title of HCC 2016 grass track champion on the line, the riders produced some of the best racing seen in the league this year.

1st July saw round 2 of Hafren CC's grass track league return to the Welshpool Oval. A clash with a Wales 1/4 final in the football saw an earlier start for all races.
The weather was kind and the rain stayed away, however strong winds played their part in making for some tough racing. A Slightly depleted field of 35 riders enjoyed the flying lap, Kieran and elimination race.

The sun shone on round 1 of Hafren CC Freewheel Grasstrack League. Forty four riders from a number of clubs took to the grass oval and provided a great's night racing. The juniors and youth riders kicked the evening off on a shortened oval and took part in the 'flying lap', scratch and elimination races. Of particular note was the large turnout in the u8's category with 14 riders taking to the start line and showing promising signs for future of cycling...
38 riders took to the track on Friday evening for Round 2 of the Hafren CC Grass Track League. The rain held off (just!) and it was another exciting evening of racing enjoyed by riders and spectators alike.
Thanks to all that took part. Last nights results are below along with the overall standings after 2 rounds. The final round is next FrIday at 6pm with a presentation ceremony at the end.

On a warm 3rd of July evening Hafren CC hosted it's first grass track racing and launched the only grass track league currently running in Wales. The format couldn't be simpler an oval track on a flat grass field, with a combination of endurance and sprint events. Whilst the emphasis was on fun the enthusiasm from the 34 riders led to some exciting racing on the night. The series resumes next Friday at 6pm and here are the standing after round 1:-
