With Hafren Cycling Clubs Time Trial series kicking off on the 1st May in Welshpool, last weekend’s Hill Climb provided the ideal opportunity for riders to get back into the thrills and spills of racing against the clock on the lung busting 4 mile climb from Newtown to Dolfor.
21 riders stepped up to the challenge and there were some excellent times and the competition has certainly started, with some friendly rivalry already emerging amongst the Hafren ranks.
Hill climbs are renowned for being both lung bustlingly painful and mentally challenging. Despite this, the 21 brave souls tested themselves against the picturesque slopes of the Dolfor Hill, where they battled not only gravity but savage winds as well.
Hill climbs are unlike normal time trials where it’s possible to maintain a rhythm and pace yourself … oh no, Hill climbs are all about your legs screaming, lungs busting and heart pounding … you either love um or hate um !!!
