Eight riders turned out for the trip down to Brecon, which turned out to be a very windy and wet mud fest. The conditions made for a difficult afternoons racing with many riders abandoning, although all Hafren riders finished the course.

Brecon like many CX courses was staged around a leisure centre with steep climbs to encounter and muddy descents to navigate. Plus due to the conditions 100’s of metres of ankle deep “power sapping” mud to run through.

Darren Jarman was the first of the Hafren boy’s home and latter confessing it was one of the hardest things he’s encountered on a bike. Ian Coe put a sterling effort in as a result of having to carry his bike for the later part of the race due to a mechanical, which was no mean feat considering the conditions. All the boys deserved a pat on the back for sticking with it, showing true fighting spirit and resolve.

A good days racing was had despite the awful conditions and all are eagerly awaiting there next events.
