Shropshire Cycling Clubs Association Autumn 10 No.2
Tim Beardmore took a maiden win for the season in atrocious conditions at Waters Upton to top off a successful season and put himself into prime position to win both Overall and Veteran's Bronze medals in the SB Sports Injuries Series - as the destinations of four more County medals were settled and Personal Bests were registered. The Nova Raider battled the elements to stop the watch on 2...
Nova Raiders Sporting 10
The curtain fell on the Friction Hydraulics Series for 2017 with Bryn Davies putting in a dominant ride to prove just why he is this year's Series Champion, as the outstanding medal positions were settled and the Women's course record fell - twice. Davies coped best with a tough crosswind in Round 16, Nova Raiders' Sporting 10 on the rolling Cherrington - Newport course. The Hafren CC rider stopped the watch on 23 minutes exactl
Sunday 24th was the 3rd round of the Welsh Cyclocross League on the Foxley Estate near Hereford. 21 Hafren riders took to the start line. The course was very different to the technical challenge at Builth a fortnight ago. It was dry and fast suiting more the powerful riders. There were some great performances from the young Hafren riders and it is really encouraging to see so many turning up to race. Max Bufton narrowly missed out on a podium in the U1...
Matt Davies shook off the cobwebs and took a dominant win at Waters Upton in the first SCCA Autumn 10 in Round 14 of The SB Sports Injuries Series. With a late arrival meaning limited time to warm up, the Rhino Velo rider was last man off but overtook five riders to win by over a minute in a fabulous time of 20 minutes 28 seconds. Making his first, belated appearance of the 2017 Series Davies was delighted to be back in action, stating: "I was really pleas

Ludlow CC Wigmore Road Hill Climb
Is anyone likely to stop Kirk Vickers in his defence of The Coaching Revolutions Hill Climb Series as the Rhino Velo rider made it another win at Ludlow. Vickers made it the maximum 80 points on offer so far and was in no mood to release his stranglehold on the competition at Ludlow CC's Wigmore Road climb in Round 4. The longest event on the calendar, the 1.95 mile climb saw him throw himself across the finish line in
Oswestry Paragon CC Mount Road Hill Climb
The 2014 National Hill Climb Champion Dan Evans smashed his own course record and put a stop to Kirk Vickers' winning streaking in Round 3 of The Coaching Revolutions Hill Climb Series. Evans reduced his 5 minute 44.50 second benchmark also set in 2014 on the way to that National Championship with an almost unbelievable effort of 5:35.63, 28 seconds ahead of Vickers showing the quality of this ride on the tough
Wrekinsport CC Willomoor Bank Hill Climb
Kirk Vickers admitted to having unfinished business on the Willomoor Bank course in Round 2 of The Coaching Revolutions Hill Climb Series as riders battled gravity for the second time in 24 hours. Vickers had finished 3rd in the same Wrekinsport CC event in 2016, 11 seconds behind Dan Watts but looking mean and determined he made it two wins out of two to reverse those fortunes.
