Sunday the 8th December will see 13 riders from the Hafren Cycling Club, based in Newtown, Welshpool and the surrounding areas, heading down to the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells for the 2013 Welsh Cyclo‐Cross Championships. Round 6 Welsh CX league

Four Hafren Riders made the trip to Gorseinon to race in the Melin Mynach CX. The weather was better than forecast, however the previous weeks rain turned the course into a mud fest. Max Bufton got off to a strong start in the U8's race and crossed the line in 11th. This result lifts Max into the top ten in the overall league. Round 5 – Welsh Cyclocross – Brecon

Eight riders turned out for the trip down to Brecon, which turned out to be a very windy and wet mud fest. The conditions made for a difficult afternoons racing with many riders abandoning, although all Hafren riders finished the course. Brecon like many CX courses was staged around a leisure centre with steep climbs to encounter and muddy descents to navigate. With priority going to those contesting the welsh series, a smaller group of Hafren riders travelled to Carmarthen Park. This was cx with a twist - flood lit night racing. Three Hafren riders took on the second round of the Midlands CX series at Sundorne Circuit, Shrewsbury.
