Hafren hosts a round of the SCCA Reliability Ride series.

Cancelled – Another COVID-19 victim

New for this year – Ambers Woodfired Pizza Van (bring some cash and enjoy a post ride Pizza)

First event of the year is the Club’s round of the SCCA Reliability Rides Series on Sunday 5th April. Sign on is from 8:30 at Berriew Community Centre, with first riders off at 9:30

This event will once again replace the regular Sunday Club ride for that day. Entry fee £3.00 (free for Juniors) Tea and Cake at the finish

The ride is a part of a 14 ride series where each Associate club hosts an event. No prizes but a good opportunity to ride in larger groups on different roads with the rest of the cycling community

Full series detail can be found here with links to all the routes here

The 100km route proved to be one of the most enjoyable of the series last year with the shorter, 60km route also being popular and an opportunity for some of our juniors to ride in the bunch.

Entrance fee £3.00. Under 18s ride free.

These rides are a great way ride in a group that is more than just your fellow club mates.

As the time standards are (typically) 13mph, 15mph and 18mph they suit A & B group rides and we are hoping that both groups support our event on April 5th

Reliability rides are not races, but a test of various cycling skills. Rides are run on time standards, so the fastest riders will aim for the shortest time standard, but the longest standard should be attainable by all club riders. You’ll have to navigate; the route is published with a cue sheet and (usually) GPX file. Routes are not marked, so navigation is part of the ride. The rides are also not supported, so no feed stations or broom wagons, but cafes are routed in.

Safety First!

Groups can be quite large in these events and we want to run a safe and enjoyable event.
