For the second year in succession Hafren C.C. have failed to attract enough entries to proceed with the planned LVRC promotion, which was due to take place on 18th May 2014.
At the time of writing we have secured just 31 entries across all age categories A to H, meaning that we were unable to provide a credible race in any of our 3 planned events.
It is true to say that we would probably have had a few more entries arrive in the next 2 weeks, but when coupled with the undoubted DNS’s that always occur on the day, we felt that this and the considerable financial loss we were likely to suffer by proceeding was considered too big a risk to take.
I can assure you that our decision to cancel has not been taken lightly, but there does come a point where you have to consider those who may have booked accommodation or those who would want to try and enter alternative events and 2 weeks out seemed the right time to do this with the minimum risk of accommodation cancellation fees or disruption to everyone’s plans.
Apologies for the undoubted disappointment this will have caused, but our thanks to all who supported the event either through their entry or offer of help on the day.
