Well what a fantastic setting for my first cross of the season … well my first cross ever. Taking place in the historic setting of Ironbridge Gorge the race was centred on an old Victorian town which is a local tourist attraction.

Opening yet another chapter in Hafren's saga of sheared fixing bolts, at tonight's BC event in Shrewsbury, it was Coe Jr's turn to snap one, this time a seat post clamp. The Hafren boys turned to Dave Mellor, in their hour of need (10 minutes before the start), he generously loaned a rather shiny mountain bike quick release clamp which sufficed.

Sat Nav Needed... Hafren CC duo Coe & Filek turned in another good performance in the 2up series at Wrekinsport 10TT Wednesday evening, finishing 5th with a time of 23:40. Another mishap with fixing bolts resulted in Filek having to compete without aerobars on the fast course, putting additional pressure on Coe to sustain a blistering pace on the front in an attempt to preserve joint first in the overall standings.

Held on the Sundorne closed cycle circuit in Shrewsbury, the event was open to veteran riders (over 40's) and run under LVRC regulations.

Sunday the 13th July saw another addition of MSW circuit races and three Hafren riders Paul Bufton, George Coe and Mike Filek entered the 4th Cat race, on Sundorne’s 1Km road race track.
