Hafren CC Track Day Special – Newport Velodrome 4th February 2017
Every fancied a go on the wooden boards of a modern Velodrome? Well here’s your second chance. After a great day at Derby Velodrome on Friday 9th December 2016 Hafren CC is running a members only session at Newport Track
The session will be a three hour coached session. Sessions are suitable for any level of rider right from beginner stage
The session briefly will consist of:-
Introduction to bike and track
Introduction to riding fixed wheel
Importance of speed
Climbing track
Blue line pace
Flying timed laps
Endurance riding
*dependant on ability and fitness*
Costs – the session is subsidized and the cost will be £20.00 per rider and includes bike hire
Travel – make arrangements and share with other members
Clothing & Equipment
Helmets are compulsory (Please note that no MTB peaks are allowed on your helmet)
All bikes use Look Keo Pedals. If you don’t normally ride these pedals your cleats won’t fit. But you can get them from Brooks Cycles and they should be suitable for any 3 point fixing on your shoes. These are available from Brooks Cycles. If in doubt check with Tony (Please note Derby Velodrome does not have toes strap alternatives). Make sure your Keo cleats are in good repair
Track Mitts or Gloves are recommended
Normal cycle clothing, short, jersey, base layer
