Hafren CC’s round of the SCCA Friction and Hydraulics TT series is being held on the 5th June of the Berriew 25 (D25/24R) and has attracted a full field of 60 riders. There is strong representation from the club once again this year and some of the fastest Time Trialers in the region will be taking part.

Headquarters are Berriew Community Centre and Volunteers should be there for 6pm. If you are volunteering as a Marshal please park outside the hall and not in the car park, we’ll need this space for competitors. We could do with a volunteer who can get there early to marshal the parking, 60 riders means vehicles have to be carefully parked.

Of course, races can’t happen without officials. Hafren is well respected locally for its safe events, and we want to continue that tradition. At the heart of safe racing on open public roads is the system of marshals, and we’ll need quite a few that night (15 in total).  We also need help putting out warning signs. We need a recorder to help the Timekeeper at the finish and help at Berriew Community Centre HQ with sign on, the live results board and providing tea, coffee and cake to riders and volunteers.

Please, we need your help. We have quite a few volunteers for the night, thanks to them all, but we do need more. You don’t have to Time Trial to help, this is a club event that can only happen with support from membership. If you want to get involved then you can e-mail Mike Holwill, the event organizer, or respond to his Facebook posts requesting help.

Many thanks to those who have already volunteered, we are halfway there!

The route goes past the Horseshoes pub twice, so if you can’t volunteer but want to watch this is a great place to do it
