Dolfor ‘5’ Mile Time Trial Result – 26th April 2015

Well the 2015 season is under way and 28 riders took to the line for the first time trial of the year!

In brilliant sunshine, with a chilly wind keeping the air temperatures down, riders climbed the long if not steep course to Dolfor village from the outskirts of Newtown below.

Billed as a 5 miler, the true distance is nearer 4 miles depending on what Strava segment you look at, but the shorter distance didn’t make it any easier for those who took part.

Fastest on the day was Andrew Evans who clocked 13mins 11seconds, closely followed by Ian Coe a further 8 seconds behind. Medwyn Jones completed the podium a further 3 seconds off the pace, but last years club champion was glad that future events will be on his favoured flatter terrain.

Fastest Lady on the day was Sharon Brooks (18 mins 20 seconds), who despite having walked a 19 mile charity walk the day before in support of Severn Hospice, was able to overhaul second placed Sarah Wilding by 27 seconds.

Two junior members also road well with Sam Holwill at just 12 years old posting a creditable 16 mins 21 seconds to finish 18th on the day.

Next Hafren TT is at Welshpool on 6th May, meeting at the Flash Leisure Centre, with sign on from 6:15pm and first rider off at 7pm.
