Perfect riding conditions saw six Hafren riders at the Severn Hospice Big Bike Ride. This well organized event ran the same route as last year, but anti-clockwise. It’s a great route through rolling Shropshire countryside on hedged lanes and Shropshire looked at its best in warm September sunshine. We raised £1077 in sponsorship, many thanks to all who sponsored us. The warm weather saw good entries in all the rides, with good teams from the local Shropshire clubs. The event is based on a figure of 8 loop around Shawbury. with 100, 50 and 25 k loops all using the same HQ. It’s a well run event for anyone wanting a less gnarly sportive type ride, with the pleasure of riding in larger groups, meeting other cyclists and a ride as challenging as you make it that can be a good way in to endurance events.
