Hafren Cycling Club now has an active Ladies Section which aims to provide opportunities for female cyclists to get together for rides and coaching sessions.  Female cyclists are of course welcome to join in on any of the club activities, for example Sunday rides or time trials but the ladies only rides are aimed at encouraging new cyclists to join the club.  If you’ve never been part of a cycling club you may feel a bit nervous and want to chat to other females before joining in on club rides.

The ladies rides are on Saturday mornings, meeting at 9.30 am and alternate between meeting in Newtown and Welshpool.  The rides are about 25-30 miles and are at a gentle pace, making sure no one is left behind.  There will be a café stop at some point in the ride for a chat and more importantly tea and cake.

Ideally you’ll need a road bike, and a helmet is essential for club rides.  You’ll need a repair kit or spare tube together with a pump (even if you don’t know how to change a tube).

If you are interested and want to know more then please contact me on Jackie.harris@talk21.com.  More information on individual rides will be posted on Hafren CC facebook page so join the facebook group for more info.
