With the season only 3 weeks old, the numbers attending the Hafren Cycling Clubs time trial events is increasing every week!

40 riders of all abilities took to the start line last Wednesday for the Welshpool 10 mile route. Following some pretty shocking weather over the previous days, the clouds held fire for the evening for what appeared a calm evening for racing.

This course is becoming a firm favorite, especially for Max Getting, who once again took the win in 22.49, only 5 seconds slower than his previous win on the same route. Ironically Medwyn Jones took second on the night; once again 5 seconds slower than his second place finish to Max 2 weeks earlier in a time of 23.26! Graham Harris also maintained his consistency taking his 3rd top five finish of the season in a time of 24.13. Carl Spencer and Andrew Davies came in 4th and 5th respectively with only 2 seconds between them. The next 5 places were equally as tight with only 45 seconds between them all.

In the ladies race, Jackie Loxam once again took the win in a time of 31.48 which was over 1.30 seconds quicker than her previous course best. She was pushed all the way however by Hannah Coe who crossed the line in a time of 34.45 in her first outing.

The junior race was won by the ever improving Morgan Hill who crossed the line in a time of 26.23, which placed him 13th overall.  Chris Roberts took 2nd, stopping the clock on 27.41, 1.34 ahead of Rob Williams in 3rd.
