The season opener had to be moved from the traditional sprint up the Dolfor to the equally challenging single lap of the Forden Circuit with over 540ft of climbing it ceratinly makes a race. A Northerly wind kept the day fresh and cold, but was blowing gently by the time the first rider was off at 10:00
New member Ian Nisbett showed impressive early season form, leading the field and the Men’s competition home in 19:35, beating guest rider Justin Harcourt by 2 seconds (19:37)
Chris Roberts (20:06) and Phil Thomas (20:43) filled the other podium places in the Men’s event
Kallum Stait, riding as a junior got under the 30 with a strong 29:45. Chapeau
In the Women’s race Louise Downward rode an impressive 26:15 to beat another new member, Karen Proctor, into second, with Sahrah Wilding finishing off the podium
