On Sunday 21st October Hafren CC was proud to host Round 6 of the Welsh Cyclocross league at Trehafren fields in Newtown. Our round is the furthest North that the league travels and we were keen to put on a great event for the riders that were travelling from all over Wales and also a strong contingent from the West Midlands.

Storm Callum made its presence felt in the run up to the 2018 Welsh Hill Climb Championships. Three days of rain and high winds meant travelling to Abergavenny was a tricky proposition. Sadly a few competitors found the journey nigh on impossible due to storm damage and flooding but the vast majority made it to the start line on Sunday.

2018 Welsh Cycling Time Trial and Road Race Championships.
It was great to see Hafren represented at the 2018 Welsh National Championships in Llandrindod over the weekend of 18th and 19th August and shows the growing confidence of club members to compete at the highest level.

R13 Friction Series: Coaching Revolutions Shropshire Championship 10 presented by Hafren CC.
Hafren also take 4th Overall, Gold in Veterans, Silver in Juniors and Bronze in Women's on a night that needed strong legs in the return headwind.
53 riders started with Kirk Vickers (Rhino Velo RT) taking overall with a sub 20 minute ride and new course record.
This is the first time the club has hosted a County Championship. There
Hafren CC hosts the County Championship for the first time.
A full field of 60 riders with additional riders in reserve and the weather looking good the County Championship 10 mile TT is set be be the event of the season. Hafren is fielding 13 riders in the race.
