Race Report Dave Fletcher
The finale of The Coaching Revolutions 2-Up Series saw the destination of five pairs of medals still outstanding from the nine pairs on offer. Chief amongst those medals was the settlement of Overall Gold and Silver, with the ball pre-race very much in the court of Bryn Davies and Pete Thomas. The only way they could be overtaken by the Nova Raiders pair of Scott Harris and Matt Gibbons was with a v...

34 riders took to the grass track on a sunny Friday evening in Welshpool. It was great to see some new faces enjoying themselves with the regular riders. The junior racing was fast and frenetic and consisted of a flying lap, keirin and elimination race. Elliot Turner continued to dominate the year 1/2 boys with 3 wins whilst Noah White and Max Bufton also took maximum points in the year 3/4 and 5/6 boys cat...

Hafren CC 10
It was an RAF two-pronged attack at the top of the standings in Round 6 of the SB Sports Injuries Series as Luke Pollard and Dan Watts made it a 1-2 in the Hafren CC 10. Pollard's first time trial of the season demonstrated tremendous form the off as he blazed around the Welshpool - Four Crosses course in 20 minutes 52 seconds. The super smooth course not only scored a big personal best for Pollard, it also transferred household bragging ri
Ludlow CC 10
The top three were split by just four seconds in a terrifically close battle for supremacy in Round four of the Friction Hydraulics Series, with significant personal bests recorded in the Ludlow CC 10 at Brimfield. The gap at the top of the table was narrowed thanks to that tussle, with Chris Pook elevating himself to third spot overall with his first visit to the course. The Rhino Velo rider made the most of the fast, downhill start and ca
Marches CC 10
A strong showing from Hafren as Marches CC promote their first ever Time Trial
A brand new Rhino Velo pairing took the honours in a brand new event as Marches CC promoted their first ever time trial - although things didn't go as planned for two winning teams. Kirk Vickers and Dave Scott suffered for the overall win on the Queen's Head - Gobowen course with their race plan thrown out early on. The pair flew around in 21 minutes 25 sec
Bryn Davies piled on the pressure with another double table-topping ride in Round 4 of the SB Sports Injuries Series. The Hafren CC rider took both Overall and Veteran's honours in the third SCCA Spring 10 at Waters Upton ahead of 42 other solo riders, coping best with the strong headwind on the 'out' leg to Hodnet that sapped the strength of many. Davies flew home in 21 minutes 57 seconds for a 16 second victory over Nova Raiders' Matt Gibbons, stretching
Yep, that’s right – Free Cake
June 7th is Free Cake night, but not for everybody. If you want to be included then you will need to be involved in making the club’s annual Open Time Trial happen.
For the last few years, Hafren has promoted an Open event in place of its evening TT. These events raise the profile of the club and provide the opportunity to race against some of the best time trialists in the region. The race is part of the Friction Hydra
There has been a shortage of qualified Timekeepers for some time in the area. Gill Morrison and her late husband Brian tried many times in recent years to increase the pool of Timekeepers locally. With Brian's sad and untimely death last month the shortageis more accute than ever and local Open TT's are at risk.
With over 50 Open TTs in the district this year it places a huge work load on a small group of people. As a district we would like to get as ma
