After some recent (and slightly late – apologies!) committee discussions Hafren Cycling Club will again be supporting Severn Hospice as its nominated charity for 2015.
The club are now looking to do more charitable events to support Severn Hospice during the season and any suggestions and help in making 2015 a bumper charity year would be greatly appreciated.
The Tombola 2-up on 24th June (see events calendar for full details – ( https://www.hafren.cc/events/welshpool-tombola-2-up-25-mile-time-trial/ ) will be a great opportunity for riders, their family and friends to get involved in what will be a fun event for everyone, with prizes and hopefully a BBQ to round off the evenings activity, with all proceeds going towards this worthy cause.
The event is being held in the memory of HCC supporter ‘Gran’ (Vera Brooks) who sadly passed away last year. Vera and the family were lucky to have had the support and care of the Severn Hospice team towards the end, so what better way for the club to give something back.
As always all cake sales at our weekly time trials will be sold in aid of Severn Hospice during 2015, so ride hard, burn off some extra calories and then top-up at the end for a great cause 😉
In a change to previous years nominations for the 2016 charity to be supported will be requested as part of the AGM nomination process, so keep your eyes peeled for an e-mail towards the end of the year, asking for your committee AND charity nominations.
