From June 5th to June 12th 2015 I (Tom Goodman) will be cycling/walking 1,000km in memory of my Grandad. My Grandad suffered from Parkinson’s and passed away in March 2014, therefore I will be raising money for Parkinson’s UK. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition, there is currently no cure for Parkinson’s and we don’t yet know why people get the condition. Perfect riding conditions saw six Hafren riders at the Severn Hospice Big Bike Ride. This well organized event ran the same route as last year, but anti-clockwise. It's a great route through rolling Shropshire countryside on hedged lanes and Shropshire looked at its best in warm September sunshine. Hafren Cycling Club now has an active Ladies Section which aims to provide opportunities for female cyclists to get together for rides and coaching sessions. Hafren CC today presented the Wales Air Ambulance with a cheque for £2,587.10 which was raised through fundraising events during 2013.
Members of the club raised over £5,500 in total for a number of worthy charities and for 2014 their chosen charity will be the Severn Hospice....
