Great evening had at the inaugural women’s social evening
On 9th September we were excited to hold our inaugural women’s social event at the Dragon Hotel in Montgomery. 18 women attended including current members of the club and prospective members.
A lovely evening was had by all with great company and delicious food. A special thank you to Jacqui Loxam for providing the entertainment.

As you may be aware, the number of women who participate in cycling generally is much lower than the number of men. British Cycling and Welsh Cycling have recently started a number of initiatives to encourage more women onto their bikes and as a club, Hafren CC is keen to encourage female cyclists and provide opportunities for women to get on their bikes.

In our commitment to encourage and promote Women’s cycling the club is pleased to announce a series of Women Only Coaching Sessions at Sundorne Cycle Circuit which is at the Shrewsbury Sports Village.
The first session is on 10th October and 2 further sessions will be arranged in the Spring, dates to be announced. These are fully funded sessions, so you get to ride for free.
The minimum age for riders at these events is 16 years.
